Read more »Our 5 year old class welcomes advanced 4 year olds, as well as children who are currently enrolled in half day kindergarten. We also welcome those children who should be in kindergarten but who’s parents have chosen to give them the “gift of time”. By doing so, parents are allowing them the opportunity to walk into kindergarten with greater confidence as well as academically above their peers.
Our curriculum, “Houghton Mifflin” is extremely comprehensive and covers phonological awareness, shared writing, reading sight words, oral language, science, math and so much more! Most children will leave our Pre-k class with the ability to identify most upper and lower case letters as well as the sounds that accompany them. You will also receive frequent progress reports to inform you of your child’s progress, as well as the areas that need strengthening. Our 5 year old class requires advanced, structured academic time while maintaining developmentally appropriate teaching.
While academics are important, your child’s relationship with Christ is equally important! That’s where our Christian curriculum comes in. We provide daily bible stories and examples of how God’s Word still holds true today. Your child will learn about God’s unconditional love and grace and learn to pray with and for others. It’s amazing to hear 5 year olds praying for one another!
